love 2.0
Love & relationships have changed somewhat since the 60′s. One love THEN & Love 2.0 NOW – I have created a visual & musical collage thanks to the wonderful resources of the web. I was somewhat inspired by Ann Evanston of Warrior-Preneur blog who has started video blogging so I thought there was no better time than right now (as she says). But of course it took me much longer doing something different but it was lotsa fun! In comparing the two ages of Love I got to reminisce about the good ol days – I know it certainly ages me but we had fun then in the ‘summer of love‘ as we also do now in Love 2.0! Please check out my vid and let me know what you think.

whats wrong with online dating sites?
during the week I asked a few questions about online dating sites from people on Aardvark and got some pretty negative responses. Aardvark is a great site where you can ask questions about anything & get responses either by email or IM. Its fun & a great way to have conversations, much as I love Twitter, I dont always get responses to questions on Twitter, possibly everyone is too busy trying to sell themselves or something? After the responses I received, I decided to write a post about whats wrong with online dating sites because it seems they are not listening. Has that got something to do with the fact that the majority are run by men????

why cant online dating sites be more like social networks?
wouldn’t it be great if online dating sites were more like social networks? These days most people spend a lot of time interacting on social networks, you dont have to be a geek now! I have to own up to being very partial to social networks and find that in contrast online dating sites can be less friendly or able to deliver a good match, probably due to their fear of loss of customers?

where do I find mr or mrs right?
‘where do you find a partner for a possible relationship?’ I used to ask this of myself & others & many of my friends & clients still ask me this continually? Where is the Place to find someone????? My daughter & I went to Lisdoonvarna Matchmaking Festival in Ireland on the weekend. You have to hand it to the Irish that they actually have a place (or should I say places, as there are other less well known matchmaking festivals around Ireland) where this modern day dilemma can be solved. This festival/gathering has at its core the main goal which is to match couples. Farmers from all over Ireland come down for the weekends & consult or don’t with the resident matchmaker, Willy Dunne. If you are a woman & are not with a man at this festival, then you are fair game. As my daughter said (we were two women by ourselves) it was ‘predatory’! I didn’t feel comfortable at all being the prey either, so we didn’t stay long. However everyone was having fun (the Irish word is craic) & dancing at all the hotels. There was definitely a spirit of celebration in the air & the alcohol was flowing steadily everywhere & that was in the middle of the day. I’m sure everything was even more lubricated by the time they had gotten into full swing in the evening…..
In today’s world the main areas where people meet or look for partners are online dating sites & social networks. I am interested in how these sites are for supporting real relationships. I discovered a poll on DatingSitesReview.com . They ask: ‘Which dating site would you recommend for the 2007 Dating Sites Reviews Single’s Choice Award?’ & the results of their poll are as follows:
