location based mobile dating (or matching by zip code)

I wrote a post last year why can’t dating sites be more like social networks and mentioned some mobile dating sites amongst others.  Since then location based apps and sites have sprung up all over the net and have become very popular.  Foursquare and Gowalla now regularly update to Twitter so that people can meet up with each other wherever they find themselves.  There is no more lonely or should I say alone?

perfect match couple: are the odds stacked against you?

these days the odds seem stacked against finding a perfect match couple when looking for a relationship.  It seems we can be attracted to a person’s smell (see my post Smelly Love) or their hormones (Different Strokes for Different Sites) or their genes (Review of GenePartner compatibility test) or even their taste in music (ASoundMatchdotcom Relationship Assessment Review).  And there are still no guarantees that you will have a perfect match couple.

why cant online dating sites be more like social networks?

wouldn’t it be great if online dating sites were more like social networks?  These days most people spend a lot of time interacting on social networks, you dont have to be a geek now!  I have to own up to being very partial to social networks and find that in contrast online dating sites can be less friendly or able to deliver a good match, probably due to their fear of loss of customers?

Review of True.com’s Relationship Profile Assessment

I completed True.com‘s relationship assessment questionnaire a number of years ago & it produces a veritable tome of information all about Moi & was almost 32 pages. Do we ever get tired of reading such detailed information about ourselves?  Not me, however the assessment took about 40minutes to complete and that is a long time for an impatient person such as the likes of me.
