beautiful minds

have you ever fallen in love with someone else’s mind?  A meeting of minds can create some powerful ideas & actions both for good or evil.  It is important for some of us to have a meeting of minds when we meet a potential partner.  So let’s explore the mind somewhat first.  Ideas come from the mind but what do we know about the mind & how the mind works?  According to Wikipedia:  ‘Mind refers to the aspects of intellect and consciousness manifested as combinations of thought, perception, memory, emotion, will and imagination, including all of the brain‘s conscious and unconscious cognitive processes. “Mind” is often used to refer especially to the thought processes of reason. Subjectively, mind manifests itself as a stream of consciousness.’ok

brain on love

there are a few scientific studies that have linked the brain with love and attachment & so it seems that the heart is not the only organ involved in your relationships.  I’ve been helping a friend Giorgio Ungani to organize TEDx Dubai and have now developed an overactive interest in the mind & brain as a side effect.  So I thought I’d list some of the studies results in this post.  If you are interested in helping out please follow on Twitter @tedxdubai or post a short video on 12secondstv or else contact Giorgio with your ideas.

smelly love

there are many layers to attraction between humans and I think smell is quite strong (‘scuse the pun)!  I really mean that smell plays a major role in whether two people will be attracted to each other or not.  Recently I came across a few articles on the net that spoke about various studies that are focused on the issue of smell between people.

Review of Chemistry.com's Relationship Profile Assessment

Today I am going to review Match.com‘s site Chemistry Relationship Profile Assessment.  I did their assessment a few years ago when researching this business & tried it again today.  I am amazed that most of the large online dating sites, like Chemistry.com, do not mention anything about their relationship assessments on their site, making it easily accessible.  It means you have to sign up to find out the nitty gritty.  Why wouldn’t they have more openness & exposure – do they think that other companies are going to copy them?????

Not having a lot of patience, I find these assessments can be so…….time consuming & so exhausting.  That’s me anyway, how do you feel about them.

extrovert or introvert matches?

are you an extrovert or an introvert and how do you match with others? This is an important question that needs to be clarified and understood before matching with another person. Carl Jung focused on these two types of personality in his psychological work and these days many people have done the Myers Briggs personality assessment and discovered whether they are classed as an extrovert or introvert. The words themselves come from Latin from extra “outside”, intro “inward” and vertere “to turn”. Briefly an extrovert tends to focus their consciousness on the outer world and introverts tend to focus on their inner world.

Guy Kawasaki posted a comment stating that he was introverted on Twitter this week which sent ripples through the blogging community. Mashable did a poll on extroversion & introversion which you can view here
