is facebook contributing to divorce stats?

there have been a few articles recently on the subject of how facebook is contributing to people cheating on each other & ultimately causing divorces.  Social networks definitely give people a virtual community that can be supportive & distracting when someone is facing challenges within a relationship.  Anything on the net can be a distraction from addressing problems in real life.  It’s the line of least resistance & communicating directly with a partner or getting couples counseling requires a lot more effort & commitment.

social media now affords us zip dating

just like Zip cars where you swat your mobile phone & drive away in a nifty little car in a few sweet minutes, it seems that social media has speeded up our dating lives too.  A new study indicates that we now do not have to go through too many extra hurdles before we can get to first base in a relationship.  With all our technology & technological gadgets it’s like we have been afforded zip dating.  Times have changed…

social media is making us more social

a study in Texas has decided that social media is making us more social.  Who would have knew?  Good news for facebook, I think, because their privacy issues & ownership of our data still give me great concern.  However social networks do provide a great platform for us to keep in touch with friends & family, no matter where they are in the world!  It seems everyone likes to complete their relationship status, as per the pie chart below:
