romantic relationships & work, can you mix them?

I understand that if a couple likes each other then the more contact they have with each other the more those feelings will grow, both positive & negative. Familiarity breeds contempt but also concern & love.  However it appears that a new study has identified that office romances are not the done thing anymore?  These studies do seem to yield results that the researchers want so I am not going to put too much trust in this one either.

doing the dishes will not save your marriage

I don’t believe that doing the dishes will save your marriage or not talking or losing weight or scheming but possibly putting out may have more potential for this cause.  I read an article in Wall Street Journal The Secret to a Happy Marriage: Do the Dishes, Put Out, Don’t Talk So Much which is from a book which was obviously written one weekend for a lark.  The author couldn’t be serious… but here are her secrets to a happy marriage:

do you speak the same ‘language’?

a recent study has discovered that people who talk the same talk, or speak the same ‘language’ are more likely to want to see each other again in the dating game.  This backs up my idea that communication is one of the most important bridges between people.  Without it any type of relationship is doomed to challenge.

marriage is for the guys now

yet another study has determined that men are now no longer scared of marriage but are just as interested as women.  This may be because women’s interest has declined as they also discovered that women value their independence & freedom & are not as eager anymore to sacrifice them for marriage.
